For weeks leading up to the big event, we have been practicing Easter egg hunting in the backyard. But no amount of preparation could have equipped our little egg hunter for the mass hysteria that was Easter Egg Hunt 2011. At first, Jackson would find and pick up an egg (with lots of coaching), then he would throw it. Then, he wanted to open each one and eat the contents before moving on to the next.
So, he may not have a future in egg hunting, but he still had fun "hatching" the eggs, as he says.Leading up to the egg hunt, Jackson would say, "I want to see the bunny!" I'm afraid he may have been a little disappointed we didn't see a real bunny. Nevertheless, he was content to high-five this "bunny".
Reese was her usual sweet, little self. Here she is cracking a peek at the whirlwind of excitement surrounding her.
I can't believe she is already 6 weeks old here, flaring those nostrils, and pursing those lips. She has found her hands and love to nibble. Favorite waketime pasttimes: blowing bubbles and smiling. I don't have a good picture of that beautiful gummy grin, yet, but hopefully soon.
On Easter Sunday, my grandparents came up to visit the new little great-gran. Grandmama Evelyn and Reese bonding after chocolate cake.
Great-granddaddy joined the picture, and Reese is showing them how much she loves stretching.
Being the solo egg hunter this time, he figured out he could step on the eggs to open them.
Riding the tractor to hunt eggs was much more efficient and fun.
Finally, Uncle Kevin and Reese had some quality time hanging out.
We had a wonderful Easter weekend celebrating our Risen Lord with family and friends.
